We treat anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder and eating disorders not otherwise specified. Our admission counselors will be happy to gather all of your information and make sure our program is the right fit for you or a loved one. If we can't help you, we'll try to find someone who can. [Top]
Eating disorders can result in severe medical complications, some that can last a lifetime and in extreme cases can even result in death. Although it is never too late, early intervention gives patients the best chance of recovery. Because we are such a small, individualized program, each length of stay is different. There is a minimum commitment of 30 days, and our patients may spend anywhere from 30-90 days in our residential program depending on their needs. The average stay is 45 days. [Top]
Expect 1-2 individual sessions per week. One of these session may be family. More sessions are available if deemed clinically appropriate. [Top]
Our schedule has 25 hours of therapeutic hours per week. This is a very therapy-driven schedule, which is one of the ways our program is set apart from others. (Many of our competitors offer just 15 therapeutic hours per week). Center For Eating Disorders is the only residential treatment center in the nation who has the rights to Anita Johnston's curriculum.

A typical day includes meditation, process groups, dialectical behavior therapy, nutrition education, cooking classes, experiential therapies such as art, movement, psychodrama; life coaching, and, learning through stories and myths. Our center is committed to remaining small and providing individualized treatment. [Top]

We are licensed for 12 beds for the Eating Disorder Unit. [Top]
Our semi-private rooms are attractive and comfortable. Each room has full-sized beds, full baths, with ample drawer and closet space. Private rooms are available at a higher daily rate. [Top]
Yes. Our Registered Dietician will do individualized menu planning. [Top]
Yes. Family therapy is something we find to be extremely valuable when someone in the family struggles with an eating disorder. Eating disorders affect everyone in the family and when family members are educated on eating disorder behaviors and learn how to support the person they love in a healthy way, everyone benefits. We offer an intensive family program in which all family members are encouraged to attend as well as individual family sessions and telephone contact as indicated. [Top]

At Center for Eating Disorders, we begin discharge planning as soon as a patient enters our program. We believe this is a critical element in treatment and each patient will leave Center for Eating Disorders with a detailed relapse prevention plan and a treatment team in place.
